pattern + node

Messy data, turned into a graph of patterns.

Patternode is a portfolio of research ideas grown from one root: reading irregular data by its shape. A series becomes a tree of shapes; so can an image; so can what an AI agent knows. Several ideas already have working labs you can open.

Irregular series as trees of shards

Every sample is kept where it fell. The series is cut at its turning points into shards, and the shards nest into a tree at every scale, with graph iterated function systems (GIFS) as the mathematical footing. Available as a built, metered API, and offered as an alternative to candlesticks.

A new chart primitive

Shards, not candles.

Candlesticks have summarised prices in fixed slots of time for centuries. A shard summarises a move instead: turning point to turning point, with when the high and the low happened, and smaller shards nested inside. Shapes become comparable across any company and any time scale.
